Take a walk in the woods... and fill up on nature and fresh air. In the Pays du Roi Morvan, the tall trees of the woods and forests keep you cool on hot days and provide ideal hideaways for wild games of hide-and-seek!

The Pontcalleck state forest in Berné

In Berné, in the Scorff Valley, the 543-hectare Pontcalleck state forest offers a wealth of walking opportunities. Just be careful not to get lost! Among the beech, oak, birch and other tree species, you'll appreciate the peace and quiet. You might even be lucky enough to spot a roe deer, squirrel or other inhabitant of the area. Don't miss a visit to the remains of the medieval hamlet built in the 13th century.

Sainte-Barbe wood in Le Faouët

When you think of Sainte-Barbe in Le Faouët, you immediately think of this incredible chapel overlooking the Ellé Valley. It's also a densely wooded area with winding paths leading down to the banks of the river, past the pretty fountain. Take your time and save your breath for the walk back up to the car park!

Take a moment to visit the Chapelle Sainte-Barbe and discover the superb Halles in the town centre.

Tronjoly wood in Gourin

No-one in Gourin, capital of the Montagnes Noires, will be unaware that the Château de Tronjoly is the ideal starting point for a short stroll in the open air. Wide paths and narrow lanes lead you through the woods for an easy walk in the heart of nature. Depending on the season, the château is open to visitors wishing to discover the exhibition "Ces Bretons d'Amérique". The art exhibitions are also well worth a visit.

The woods of Langonnet Abbey

TheAbbaye Notre-Dame in Langonnet needs no introduction, but the woodland trail next door is less well known. Opposite the main entrance to the Abbey, a sign indicates the start of the "Religious Trail". This walk is open to everyone, even those who have no religious interest but simply want to enjoy nature. Don't forget to visit the Abbey at the same time!

Saint-Maur wood in Langonnet

The easiest way to stroll through the Saint-Maur wood in Langonnet is to follow the short loop of the Saint-Maur/Minez-Levenez walking trail. You'll be charmed by this total immersion in nature. Of course, there's nothing to stop you following the whole circuit. You'll discover the Bodero menhir, a must on the archaeological trail of the Pays du Roi Morvan.

There are many other walking trails in the woods of King Morvan country. The Meunier trail in Langoëlan, the Crénénan trail or the Sources de l'Aër trail in Ploërdut... Just about everywhere, the sunken paths are waiting for you!
