Free access to the exhibition "The Breton Peasant in Painting" on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday September 18, at 10:30 a.m .: visit in two voices around the Ursuline convent (free - on reservation) Meeting point: the courtyard of the Faouët museum. Then, start of the walk in the company of 2 guides, in and around the former Ursuline convent which now houses the Faouët museum. 6 stations will evoke the origin of the building, its history, its architecture and the forgotten, unknown or even hidden places: the entrance gate, the chapel, the cloister, the granite stairs and the 1st landing, the cloister garden, the old orchard and the fountain of the convent. Sunday, September 19, afternoon: presentation of an unpublished work by Mathurin Méheut by Christian Bellec, President of the friends of the Faouët museum (2 time slots of 45 min. / Free) The exhibition "The Breton peasant in painting" is currently taking place until October 31 at the Musée du Faouët. An important research work was carried out to collect more than 150 works and made it possible to update an original decoration of Mathurin Méheut. How could this 2m50 long casein escape radar for so long? Who was the sponsor of this painted decoration? When did Mathurin Méheut realize it? What place was it intended for? A thrilling investigation, carried out jointly by Anne Le Roux-Le Pimpec, director of the Faouët museum, Christian Bellec, president of the friends of the Faouët museum as well as Denise Delouche, art historian very enlightened on the work of Mathurin Méheut and detailed this Sunday by Christian Bellec.
