THE NIJINSKI NOTEBOOKS A few days after his last public dance in 1919, the famous Russian dancer Vaslav Nijinsky, whose mental health was deteriorating day by day, began to write his notebooks in a final vitality. He launches a mystical cry of love and rage, calls out to God and his fellows and oscillates between writing his memories and his daily life at the time. The actor Denis Lavant and the musicians Matthieu Prual and Gaspar CLaus, three high-flying artists, immerse themselves here in this dazzling work. On stage the voice, the bodies, the skins, the sounds resonate with the breath of Nijinsky, summon the ghosts of his dances, and plunge us into the thrill of genius in the face of the incandescence of the mystery of dying, of creating, to be alive.
